D1: Day 1 Tromso

: Itinerary
Experience the thrill of evening snowmobiling through the remote wilderness surrounding Camp Tamok.

Depart from the city center of Tromsø by bus and embark on an exciting snowmobiling adventure. After a 90-minute relaxing bus journey, you will enter the remote area Tamokdalen where our wilderness camp is located.

Upon arrival at Camp Tamok, you will be warmly greeted by your guide and outfitted with all the necessary gear and clothing, including thermal suit, boots, gloves and helmet. Our expert guides will provide thorough safety instructions on how to drive a snowmobile, ensuring everyone feels confident and safe before heading out on the tour.
Follow your tour guide and navigate along snowy trails. Although this tour does not focus on chasing the northern lights, as we will venture into total darkness, we might get lucky and witness them while being out on the tour, adding an extra touch of magic to this evening adventure.
You will share a snowmobile with another person, taking turns as the driver and passenger. Halfway through the tour, we’ll have a short break where you'll swap places, ensuring both of you have the chance to drive the snowmobile.
After the snowmobile tour, you will return to the camp, where a warm meal awaits in one of our traditional lavvus (indigenous Sámi tent). With food and drinks served, gathered around the open fire, you will get the chance to relax and share stories of your recent adventures.

During peak season, we might split the group to avoid large groups. Half of the group will start with a warm meal in the lavvu before heading out on their snowmobile tour.

With everyone returned to the camp, it’s time to board the bus and return to Tromsø, taking with you great memories of your adventurous evening in the Arctic wilderness.

Good to know

Due to the dramatic topography, a reduced speed is maintained during some parts of the tour.
This tour is not focused on chasing the Northern Lights, but it offers a great chance of witnessing this natural phenomenon.
The duration of the snowmobiling activity (the time you will spend driving the snowmobile) is about 1,5 hours. This can differ day to day, depending on snow and weather conditions.
Self liability can be reduced to NOK 1000 by paying waiver supplement NOK 300 per (snowmobile) safari driver upon booking.

Note: The times shown above only serve as recommendations. The actual arrival time may be delayed due to a variety of force majeure circumstances, including bad weather, gridlock, accidents, festivals, events, riots, strikes, etc. We apologize about that. If you have other trip plans and need to take other transitions to get to other cities, please reserve at least three hours of extra time so as to avoid any issues with delayed travel. Age limit:

You need to be minimum 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license to operate a snowmobile.
Passengers needs to be minimum 7 years old.
Maximum one child per adult.
Drivers and passengers must be minimum 130cm in height to meet the safety requirements.
Pregnant people are not allowed to participate in this tour.

Food and beverages

Complimentary traditional Norwegian soup/stew (vegetables with meat or fish).
We serve bread, coffee, tea and water with the meal.

Dietary requirements

Please advise us during your booking of any food allergies or dietary restrictions.
If no notice is given in advance, an extra fee of 150 NOK will be charged.
